Certifying StatementEach functional requirement specified in the APPENDIX A TO SUBPART B OF PART 395—FUNCTIONAL SPECIFICATIONS FOR ALL ELECTRONIC LOGGING DEVICES (ELDS) has been individually tested by Garmin Software Quality (SQ) Team. Each requirement has been validated according to meeting the specified requirement as is written in the specification. The FMCSA Test Plan and Procedures (Version 2.0) were consulted when verifying each requirement. The Garmin eLog dēzl solution is a local-type ELD solution supporting USB and BT data transfer methods at the roadside and meets all technical specifications detailed in the ELD rule with the following assumptions/caveats: (1) Electronic Motor Carrier Edit requests is an optional requirement noted in the ELD Technical Specifications (4.3.3.1.3). This is not supported since it is not an essential requirement for a local-type ELD. (2) The ELD data and formats required to be recorded for each event type were verified by viewing the generated FMCSA ELD Data File whereas the FMCSA Test Plan Procedures implied that the application user interface would provide this capability.
