Data Transfer Methods | The ZoomLog transfers the driver's data file using the methods described in Appendix A to Subpart B of Part 395—, Functional Specifications for All Electronic Logging Devices (ELDs), sections 4.10.1.1. Wireless Data Transfer via Web and 4.10.1.2. Wireless Data Transfer Through Email. The driver performs the following steps to transfer the data file: 1. From the certify/review records page tap Send Recs 2. Enter a comment or reference number if provided by the DoT inspector 3. Tap Web for a web services transfer or tap email for an email transfer |
Malfunction Notes | The following malfunctions are reported by the ELD: Power Compliance Malfunction Occurs if the data diagnostic generated to indicate that the ELD has not received power within 1 minute of the engine powering on indicates a total understated driving time of 30 minutes or more, for all drivers combined ( including the unidentified driver), during any 24 hour period. Engine Synchronization Compliance Malfunction Occurs if the ELD loses communications with the ECU for a total time of 30 minutes or more, for all drivers combined ( including the unidentified driver) during any 24 hour period. Timing Compliance Malfunction Occurs if the ELD time has an absolute deviation from UTC that exceeds 10 minutes or more at any time. Positioning Compliance Malfunction Occurs if the ELD the cumulative elapsed time during which the ELD is unable to obtain a valid GPS position, within 5 miles of the vehicle's movement, exceeds 60 minutes during any 24 hour period. Data Recording Compliance Malfunction Occurs if the ELD is unable to record or retrieve logs that are not stored remotely. Data Transfer Compliance Malfunction Occurs if, following a data transfer data diagnostic event, the ELD fails to successfully complete its data transfer monitoring function when attempted once per 24 hour period for 3 consecutive 24 hour periods following the data transfer data diagnostic event. |
