Data Transfer Methods | Driver submits HOS data utilizing Telematics submission via Web Servoces (HTTPs) and Email (SMTP/MIME). The driver also has the option to use local transfer method utilizing BlueTooth technology to the inspecting officer. There is an optional comment field that is to be filled in by the officer in order to facilitate "labeling" the transfer of data initiated by the driver. When using HTTPs as the submission method, the driver will select the 'Submit via Web Services' option and select their vehicle bearing the appropriate VIN. The driver will then select to 'Send the output file' and the app will indicate that it will send ELD data for the last 8 days. The drive will then pass the device to the inspecting officer who will enter a unique 'comment' into the official comment section and then pass the device back to the drive who will then initiate the transfer. FMCSA will then respond to the driver that sent the message with an 'OK' or 'Error message'. When using EMAIL as the submission method, the drive will select the 'Submit via Email Service' option and select their vehicle bearing the appropriate VIN and then select `Send output file`. The driver will then pass the device to the inspecting officer who will enter a unique 'comment' into the official comment section and then pass the device back to the drive who will then initiate the transfer. A response email will be sent back to the device/app from FMCSA indicating if the transfer was successful. |
Malfunction Notes | In the event of a malfunction, our ELD will trap Power, Engine Synchronization, Timing, Positioning, Data Recording and Data Transfer compliance malfunctions. We also provide trapping of Data Diagnostic events, where Power, Engine Synchronization, Missing required Data elements, Data Transfer and Unidentified driving records data dianostic events are trapped. The Android application will display a pop-up and a brief, audible warning to indicate to the driver that there is a Malfunction or Data Diagnostic event. |
Certifying Statement | Our SynodicELD has been vigorously tested in real-world scenarios in partnership with local fleets on actual vehicles bearing the J1939 and J1708 CANBUS protocols. The application has been tested on our Xgody K20 Android device which we supply in conjunction with our ELD to our customers at no extra cost to ensure a compatible environment with minimal downtime. The HOS web application fully functioned as expected and after 18-months of development and testing, we certify that our device exceeds FMCSA standards. |
