Data Transfer Methods | Telematics Option 1: Web Service and E-mail Data Transfer Process Here are the exact steps of how this happens through our ELD mobile application: 1. Driver must open the mobile app Rapid On the GO! from its device desktop icon 2. Driver must login to the app using his Company's Client ID, Username, Password and Language choice. 3. Driver must press on a button titled "DOT". visible on the home screen after login 4. Driver must choose the number of log days he wishes to display to the safety official from a collection of possible choices: 8 Days, 7 days, 6-Days, 5-Days. 5. Driver must press on the "Generate Report" button that follows after step 4 6. Once the report is generated, the Driver can show the screen of the device to the safety official for a visual audit of the generated driving log report. 7. At bottom of the report there will be 2 buttons: - Send Report - Send Email Driver/Official may press on either of the two buttons to send the DOT HOS report to the FMCSA. Pressing the "Send Report" button will send the DOT HOS report using the web service endpoints located at https://eldws.fmcsa.dot.gov. Pressing the "Email Report" button will send the DOT HOS report using the secure e-mail process to [email protected]. |
Malfunction Notes | In the event that an ELD malfunctions, the driver is required to immediately begin completing a paper log and to reconstruct logs for each of the past 7 days, unless the driver already possesses the records or the records are retrievable from the ELD. ELDs must be repaired within 8 days, subject to an FMCSA-approved extension. All diagnostic malfunction codes are being handled through a 3rd party DOT-compliant device called "GeoTab". These diagnostic events and their codes could be captured using our ELD mobile application ROTG and displayed as part of the rolling daily DOT HOS logs.
